British Museum The British Museum remains London's most popular tourist destination. Kick-started in 1759 with a bequest from Sir Hans Sloane, the museum in Bloomsbury now houses seven million objects and is home to world's largest collection of arts and antiquities from ancient and living cultures spanning the last two millions years.
