Columbia Road Flower Market
Columbia Road plays hosts to the best flower show in London on a weekly basis. Every Sunday eager shoppers cram into this quaint Victorian terrace in Bethnal Green to buy their floral goodies. Bargains are to be sought out especially when buying in bulk.
It started out as general fruit and veg market in 1869, created by the kind benificence of Baroness Burdett-Coutts. It was originally housed inside the huge Columbia Market hall (now demolished) but the traders preferred to be outside however and started selling flowers in the 1920s.
