Disover The Real London
Himalaya Palace
The Himalaya Palace in Southall was originally built as the Palace Cinema by George Coles in 1929. It was designed uniquely in the style of a Chinese temple complete with red pagoda roof and dragon ornamentation. It is Grade II listed.
After a £5 million restoration in 2001, the cinema was turned into the Himalaya Palace, showing mainly Bollywood blockbusters, reflecting the large Asian diaspora in Southall.
