Victoria Park
Victoria Park was laid out in 1842 by James Pennethorne after 30,000 residents of Hackney, Bow and Bethnal Green successfully petitioned Queen Victoria for a much needed green lung among their confined streets.
"Vicky Park" is the East End's largest park (218 acres) and has over 4,000 trees. It is bounded by the Regent's Canal and Hertford Canal on its west and south sides.
