Disover The Real London
Hoover Building
The Hoover Building in Perivale is the best example of Art Deco architecture in London - the facade is dominated by white stucco pilasters decorated with red and blue faience tiles. It was built by Wallis, Gilbert and partners in 1935 as Hoover's first European factory.
Hoover stopped producing vacuum cleaners at Perivale in early 1980s. Left to rot, the future of the Hoover Building looked bleak. Thankfully Tesco took over the old factory in 1992 and have sensitively converted it into one of their superstores.

95 and E5 go along Western Avenue.
Wallis, Gilbert Partners also built the Firestone Factory (sadly no more) in Brentford and the American Express Garage in Bloomsbury.
