Mount Street Gardens
Mount Street Gardens (also known as St George's Gardens) is a delightful quiet oasis secretly tucked away behind the Grosvenor Chapel in the heart of Mayfair. It was laid out in 1890 on a former burial ground.
Beautifully tended, it's stacked full up to 90 wooden benches, mostly donated by grateful Americans who use the gardens as a refuge from their nearby embassy in Grosvenor Square. Perfect for escaping from London's endless bustle with a book or a crossword.
