The Dove
The Dove pub at Hammersmith is the perfect summer retreat. Make your way out of London's smallest pub bar to the terrace and enjoy this beautiful bucolic stretch of the River Thames as it bends towards Hammersmith Bridge.
The Dove has been pulling pints since the 17th Century. Folklore has it that Charles II and his mistress Nell Gwynn used to meet here for romantic assignations - frankly it seems unlikely. Writer Graham Greene definitely was a regular however.
