Alfred Hitchcock mosaics
Mosaics were installed in the entrance tunnel of Leytonstone tube station in 2001 to celebrate the 100th birthday anniversary of legendary film director Alfred Hitchcock. He was born in Leytonstone at 517 High Road in 1899. The mosaics were created in vitreous glass by the Greenwich Mural Workshop.
There are 17 mosaics in total, all depicting the film director's famous works. They include scenes from Psyho, The Birds, Rear Window, Vertigo and (as pictured) North By North West - Cary Grant being hunted down by the crop sprayer aeroplane.
