Abney Park Cemetery
Stoke Newington's Abney Park Cemetery is one of the great Victorian cemeteries. Tombstones are hidden within the jungle-like undergrowth of the former parkland (now a nature reserve) making it an easy place to get lost in - half the fun, of course.
Among the famous buried at Abney Park are Salvation Army founder William Booth, music hall artist George 'Champagne Charlie' Leybourne and animal collector Frank Bostock (complete with white marble lion headstone).
Stoke Newington.
393 stops on Stoke Newington Church Street; 67, 73, 76, 149 and 243 on Stoke Newington High Street.
The cemetery is managed by the Abney Park Trust.
