Disover The Real London
Millennium Bridge
The Millennium Bridge spans the River Thames between Tate Modern and St Paul's Cathedral. The pedestrian bridge was co-designed by architect Norman Foster and sculptor Anthony Caro, and opened to the public on 10th June 2000. It is 320 metres long and just four metres wide.
However, it was closed within two days as it swayed violently, earning the nickname The Wobbly Bridge. Dampers were installed and the bridge successfully re-opened on 22nd February 2002.
