Albert Memorial
The Albert Memorial, opposite the Royal Albert Hall in Kensington Gardens, is a memorial to Prince Albert, the beloved consort of Queen Victoria. Completed in 1875, it was designed in the Gothic Revival style by Sir George Gilbert Scott.
The centrepiece of the memorial is a bronze statue of Prince Albert sitting studiously on a throne, newly gilt after a £11 million restoration was completed by English Heritage in 1998.
